CD Recordings
TKC has made 95 CD recordings which have sold one and a half million CDs and won many international awards. By supporting future recording projects you can help bring the next award-winning project to a world audience, ensure the continuance of one of the world’s most best-recorded period instrument orchestras and also gain exclusive prestige and benefits. TKC’s recording of Couperin’s vividly atmospheric Trois Leçons de Ténèbres with world-class soloists Carolyn Sampson and Marianne Beate Kielland will be released later in 2012. We gratefully thank the Simon Yates and Kevin Roon Foundation for their generous support of this recording.
TKC's next major recording project is
The Sacred Music of Stanford and Parry
The sacred music of Stanford and Parry is well known to devotees of church music. What are less familiar are the two composers' original orchestrations, which transform already fine church music into the grandest of orchestral scores, redolent of Brahms and even, at times, Wagner. A year-long task, transcribing every note from the composers' original manuscripts will culminate in a world premiere recording, with an large orchestra of 50 players, and choir of 36, together with soloists Carolyn Sampson and David Wilson-Johnson, to create one of TKC's most spectacular recordings of recent years.
The technical and artistic costs of this massive project will be £70,000.
